Sherry's birthday celebration continues with
abeautiful fish pin from Glamour Trash
which is great jewelry by Sherry's friend James


Sherry couldn't believe it when she got her
"Adventures of Sherry" serving tray


then Cindy gave Sherry something her little 5'3" self
had been dreaming of just last week at Jazz Fest
while watching the Stilt Walkers from Martinique...
her very own set of stilts


Sherry then gave everybody their "Adventures of Sherry" T-Shirts
(available while supplies last)

after dinner everyone adjourned to the parking lot
as Sherry gave an impromptu stilt demonstration


then Sherry made her way to the Marigny for
The Bindlestiff Family Circus


one of the great things about the Bindlestiff Family Circus
is that it's hard to tell the performers from the audience


starting things off was the Hula Hoop Girl


and she quickly brought Sherry on stage
as her assistant to liven up the act


Sherry then broke out her new stilts and gave a
death defying performance along with her assistant Aphonso


next up was the Whip Lady with assistance from Kevin Lepow...
I think in this case the picture tells all you need to know


Sherry then dropped by Ernie K-Doe's Mother-In-Law Lounge
for a double birthday celebration for Mikey B & Michelle


the birthday boy proudly introduces his mom to Sherry


then Sherry helped out her old friend Antoinette behind the bar


here Sherry and Mikey B's dad wish Michelle a Happy Birthday


Sherry and her favorite Funk DJ on WWOZ....
the Soul Sister


Michelle has a birthday dance with Mikey B's dad as
Mikey B and his boys play some jammin' tunes


Sherry and the Emperor send out their best

 


Jen introduced Sherry to her new friend Keith while
calling another friend of hers on the phone so
they could make their Adventures debut


Sherry then showed Jen and Steve Picou
the highlights of her Hula Hoop routine with
the Bindlestiff Family Circus


next stop for Sherry was Tipitina's and Los Hombres Calientes
opening up the Moratorium Fund Raiser


Sherry had left her new stilts at home so she was
up front with Steve Picou and his friend Emily


John Sinclair, who is soon to move from New Orleans
to Amsterdam, was the MC for the evening


Sherry couldn't believe it when Sean gave her
a beautiful autographed Artist Proof of his poster art


then it was time for the All-Star Jam with Walter "Wolfman" Washington
David Torkinowsky, Johnny Vidacovic and Nick Daniels


Steve Picou listens in as Jen and Emily try to come up with a
defense for the play Sherry, Michelle & Mikey B are calling....
oh nevermind, they're just talking...damn, I miss football


Rebirth Brass Band came out and were on fire from Jump Street


Da Whistle Monster (aka Leroy Mitchel) gives Sherry
a big kiss and declares "Sherry is my idol"


we're not sure if the girls are posing for a picture
or if Allison and Katey are just holding Sherry up


Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen
were also on hand to give their support


Sherry always cracks Michelle up with her hand puppets
but Mikey B is scouting more birthday money


Sherry's old friend Da Whistle Monster introduces
her to her new friend Chris Ycaza of Cuvee, New
Orleans newest must try restaurant and Chris is
also the designer of Da Whistle Monster's Whistle


Saturday afternoon was the perfect time and
weather for a crawfish boil in City Park


Sherry and Jazz Fest Johnny were ready to dive in when
a fresh batch was unloaded from the boiler


room at the tables was scarce and Lauren had an
eye out for the first one to make a move but Jazz Fest
Johnny and Sherry just pinched and sucked away

 


time for a trip to Canal Place and the
new movie "A Mighty Wind"...

Sherry was greeted at Tory's surprise party
by Bijou the Party Dawg


King RB then explained to Sherry
the origins and history of the WFF
(a New Orleans organization that sadly no longer exists)


RB with yet another example of why it's good to be King


later that night at Tipitina's was the Battle Of The New School Brass
between Hot 8 & Lil Stooges Brass Bands...
Hot 8 started things off with a high energy set


Sherry marvels that the birthday kids are still in high gear


Naylor and Sherry were posed for a picture when
Old School Bob tried the old "tap the guy on the
other shoulder" gag but they were wise to him


while awaiting his wife Kathrine's arrival from the opera
Fred Cargo cracks Sherry up with his rendition of
Rigoletto as told by Boudreaux & Thibodaux


Mikey B, Michelle, Soul Sister, Kyra, Troy Andrews
and Sherry with their new friend Tad Mondale


next up were the Lil Stooges Brass Band
and they came out ready for the challenge


every chance Larissa & Sherry get they love
to whistle the Andy Griffith theme song


Queen Inertia arrives from the opera...
a little Rigoletto and then Tips, now that's royalty

 


Sherry and her mom Helen meeting Jimmy Como and his family.
Jimmy is a cousin of Sherry's that she had never met before


other than that....a little post-Jazz Fest R & R
