Welcome to this weeks edition of

Sherry's week started with a surprise visit from an
old friend when Charley Londano and his friend Sharon
came into town to celebrate New Years

Sherry immediately took them to Tipitina's for a great evening
of music from Puddinmoto with Dave Malone & Ed Volker of the Radiators
and percussionist Michael Skinkus

going for the double Bill, Sherry does the hang
with Bill Bender and Bill Taylor

Sherry, Jazz Fest Johnny and Jay Mazza all found
it hard to believe when Dylan James told them that when
you hold his magic red cup to your ear you pick up
a broadcast from the future where the
Saints actually win the big one

Sherry spotted someone she didn't know wearing the
Thibodaux Jones Creole Kitchen T-Shirt

(available while supplies last)
he turned out to be Roddy Capers a well known
glass blower and photographer from Asheville N.C.

Quint Davis, Producer/Director of the New Orleans Jazz and
Heritage Festival, attempted to work his way
into a picture with Sherry for his Adventures debut
but Sherry was on to him from jump street

Sherry ran into her old friend Theresa Andersson
and Sherry was excited when she heard Theresa would
be joining Puddinmoto on stage for some songs

Sherry and RB at the Fess Head where RB
rubbed the head and wished for a
cute little thing with light brown hair

Abracadabra....it's Suze

Theresa Andersson then joined Puddinmoto on stage
along with Darcy Malone of the Chilluns and
Marc Paradis of Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes

Marc & Darcy spotted Sherry and were quick
to get their picture while Dylan casts his
vote on "most likely to shave his beard"

on Sherry's way out she ran into Celeste....
Celeste was the girl up front falling into everybody
at the Soul Jam...Celeste is a physical therapist
but we aren't sure just what she is doing here

Sherry then joined Fred Cargo & Jazz Fest Johnny
in a quick round of "what rhymes with Puddinmoto?"
but had to cut it short when they decided
nothing rhymes with Puddinmoto

Sherry decided to call it a night as
Fess reminded everyone that
New Years Eve was right around the corner

for New Years Eve Sherry was invited to Pat & Bob Stelz
house for a New Years Extravaganza....
here Sherry is greeted by her old friend and
the head of the evenings security...Bobby

Pat & Jeremy are long time fans of the Adventures
and were quick to jump in for a picture with Sherry

Sherry knew it was a party when Brooks & Diana arrived, but
she never expected Gallivan to go for the New Years Eve choke hold

Sherry & Brooks compared footwear
Brooks opted for the sensible brown shoe
while our girl naturally went downtown

Sherry was happy to see her neighbors J.C. & Maggie along with
Maggie's brother Breck as everyone got ready
to welcome in 2003

there was great entertainment all night
prided by the Washboard Chaz Trio (week #18)

Roberto, guitar with Washboard Chaz, is from
Italy but still well aware that you haven't really
made it in America until you're in the Adventures....
le congratulazioni di Roberto

Sherry was glad to introduce Joe to her old friend
Charley who was visiting for New Years

here Sherry is joined by Pat Stelz, the evenings hostess,
and Sherry's favorite dance partner Mike

Marilyn shows Sherry the new "Mardi Gras Magazine 2003"
with an article about the Krewe du Vieux parade
which features a picture of the Pizza Sluts on page 67...
Sherry & Marilyn are both past Queens of the Pizza Sluts

as the midnight hour approaches Sherry is joined
by Jazz Fest Johnny, Larissa & Brooks for a look
at the fireworks

Sherry, James, Steve & George begin to celebrate
as the clock strikes 12 and it's Happy 2003!!!

Sherry said she wasn't leaving until she saw
the longest tongue in the house....
James whipped it out and Sherry hit the door

realizing that Mardi Gras is just about here
Sherry got in a little pre-Carnival workout

Friday night at Rosy's Jazz Hall was
the launch of the brand new
"New Orleans Beat Street" magazine...
and Sherry was quick to grab a copy

Sherry's good friend, New Orleans artist, Mike Williamson
designed the cover of the first issue of New Orleans Beat Street
and here he signs Sherry's copy

Sherry ran into her old friend Big Chief Alfred Doucette (Week #23)
and they both enjoyed the article in New Orleans Beat Street
featuring the Big Chief

Jay Mazza of New Orleans Beat Street is happy to see
Larissa, Steve, Sherry & Chris enjoying the inaugural issue

hanging at the bar Sherry found The Goo
and made new friends with Danny and his green beret

the party then switched gears and became Pat Jolly's
Silly Hat Birthday Party....here Jazz Fest Johnny
leads the lady of honor into her party

since she didn't get the email about wearing a silly hat
Sherry quickly borrowed Jazz Fest Johnny's hat
and just as quickly broke it....sorry Johnny

there was music provided by the
Mighty Sic-A-Mo Brass Band

Sherry then ran into her new good friend Roddy Capers (earlier this Adventure)
along with Ricky Castrillo and Diane Weiss

a trip to the bar proved worthwhile when Sherry
ran into Antoinette K-Doe and Barbara Gilmore

then David and Rosalyn took the stage
and played their familiar brand of New Orleans music

Gloria Power spotted Sherry and wasn't
about to leave without a pic with her and whats-his-name

then it was off to the Maple Leaf and The Joe Krown Combo

John Fohl, playing guitar with Joe Krown, missed his chance at the Adventures
last week when he played with Dr John, but he wasn't about
to make the same mistake again

next it was the Theresa Andersson group

Darcy Malone of the Chilluns soon joined Theresa on stage
and they sounded amazing together

Marc Paradis of Johnny Sketch joined them on stage and
added some tasty cello to the set....also you will notice that Dylan
was right earlier in this Adventure when he predicted
Marc would shave off his beard...atta boy Dylan

Sherry and her friends Camile Baudoin of the Radiators
& Missy Bowen, straight from her show on WWOZ,
met up at the Maple Leaf Bar to top off
the night with a group Sherry Wave
©

it was then off to the Rock N Bowl® where Sherry was greeted by
her old friend and Rock N Bowl
® owner John Blancher

Sherry was very surprised to see her old friend Tex from
The Jay B Elston Band...Sherry hadn't seen Tex since week #4

Eddie Bo and Snooks Eaglin were sounding great with
Sherry's friend Brint Anderson filling Ervin Charles spot on bass

Sherry was thrilled to see Brint as he joined her
for a long overdue return to the Adventures

Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum was trying to keep a low profile
but couldn't resist when he had his chance for a pic with Sherry

Sherry saw her old buddies Oliver "Who Shot The La-La" Morgan and
Al "Carnival Time" Johnson and tried to persuade them
to do a couple of songs

Oliver was anxious to make Sherry's wish come true
and quickly hopped on stage to rock the house

while jammin Sherry ran into Ira and Schmuella
(or as Sherry calls her "Pork Chop")
Ira is the organizer of the great Ponderosa Stomp
that happens during Jazz Fest....this year it
will be at the Rock N Bowl
®

Oliver Morgan then had Sherry help him lead
a Second Line around the dance floor

Sherry hadn't seen Heather since week #4 either
even though her and Tex live on the same street as Sherry...
these 2 busy girls lead very busy lives

Bob another neighbor of Sherry's
also showed up for the festivities

it must have been long lost friend night at the Rock N Bowl....
here Sherry finds Mark Wilkerson
who was last spotted week #2

but when Al Johnson took the stage
Sherry knew it was "Carnival Time"

Carnival actually starts on Twelfth Night which is today January the 6th
Happy Carnival from The Adventures of Sherry

that's all for this week

but stay tuned....because there are always more
