as soon as she got in the door Sherry ran
into two of
her favorites Tracy Malone & Renee Bigelow,
who were obviously up for a big night of The Dudes
All of the music last week was stellar and
this week was no exception
as John Mooney opened the night with a great solo set
Fred Cargo & Jazz Fest Johnny were ready
for some fun and they also
introduced Sherry to her new friend Marianne Abbott
Record Producer Scott Billington (here with
Jeanie Clinton) was happy to see Sherry
who he hadn't seen since his debut in week #28
John Mooney had spotted Sherry from the stage
and couldn't
believe his good luck in finding her in the audience
Sherry than spotted her favorite Johnny...
Johnny Malone
then it was time for the nights headliners,
The Dudes, to take the stage
here joined by Tommy Malone's brother Dave from the Radiators
Dylan, Jazz Fest Johnny and Tommy Campbell
all agreed with
Sherry that the music at Tipitina's 25th Anniversary has all been
completely over the top and a thrill to see and hear
Sherry ran into long time Tipitina's stage
manager and MC Ricky Castrillo
Sherry found Renee Bigelow, Lee Yates (Dante's
Kitchen)
and Libra LeGrone (real name, honest)
back at the bar but groovin' just as hard
RB, JFJ, Larissa & Rebecca share a moment
as Wednesday night comes to a close
since Mardi Gras is right around the corner
Sherry and the Pizza Sluts had a
planning meeting/dinner to get ready for Krewe du Vieux
Sherry was about to leave when Timothea spotted
her
and while thanking Sherry for attending her " Siren to Wail"
Benefit (week#25) got in a quick photo while she was
at it
Sherry then lead the group for a presentation at the Mother-In-Law Lounge
Sherry was anxious to see her old friend Antoinette K-Doe
and Antoinette was thrilled to see the pictures
of herself
and Ernie (?) taken during week #24
and the group
got together for a big
Sherry Wave© to
salute the Emperor
Sherry adjourned to the bar for a little
reading on the history of the Emperor
the statue of the Emperor proudly displays
the photographs of Antoinette and Ernie(?)
Antoinette then mounted the pictures above
the
Emperor's statue for all to see....drop by the
Mother-In-Law Lounge and check them out and say
hello to the lovely and gracious Antoinette
deciding we needed a drink, Sherry jumped
behind the bar
and we'll leave the rest to your imagination
Friday night Sherry was really excited to
see her long lost old neighbor
Mark Stevenson (baseball cap) along with Sarah, Tony, Bear and Thurston
then Sherry enjoyed a little pre-show Sushi
with
Tommy, Jason, Laurie and Tony 8-Track
arriving early at Sherry's Tipitina's,
there was time to hang for a while with Katie
also there early was George, Buster and
Sherry's old friend Mark Artigues
the MC for the evening was M.O.M.'s president,
New Orleans Beat
Street editor, and Sherry's long time friend Jay Mazza
then it was time for the Radiators, also celebrating
their
25th anniversary, to take the stage and they delivered
a brilliant 2 sets of music
Sherry's old friend Tracy Malone introduced
her to a new friend, Shannon
Radiators shows are always fun but not always
pretty
as Magoo demonstrates for Sherry
apparently Bill Taylor and Sherry bumped heads
as they were posing for this picture as they both
have a dazed look on their face
everyone expected Tony Siragusa to be at the
Super Bowl
but Sherry found him front a center for the Radiators
Sherry was hoping to talk Fred & Katherine
Cargo out
of some of their fish beads but it didn't work
Shar, Eddie Branch, Mike, Steve, RB &
Sherry all marveled
as Lisa once again struck one of her classic poses
Sherry tried to do her best Lisa
but there's no substitute for the real thing
Dave Malone keeps a close eye on Ernest Collins,
from Mayor Nagin's office, as he got on stage
to present the band with a proclamation from the mayor
Camile then called Sherry on to stage for
the thrill of her life...
a combo Sherry Wave© right in the middle of
the show
(Sherry already knew Camile was the best, now she is
also madly in love with him for pulling off this stunt)
Sherry was surrounded by fans after leaving
the stage
and gave out a "Freaky Five" to an admirer
and Sherry quickly jumped into the safety
of the Gov and RB
The Beautiful, The Bonkers and The Scary
Lisa was quick to jump the action when
she saw Tommy & Sherry posed for a shot
the question is.......how many Marks does
it take???....
apparently 2-Mark Wilkerson & Mark Stevenson
Tony 8 -Track & Jenz grabbed Sherry for a toast to the Radiators
Sherry was happy to see Aaron, who she had
met just last week,
but Trout's girlfriend Victoria seemed a little confused on the
difference between posing for a picture and strangling
as Sherry gasps for fresh air
but the Gov rescued Sherry and the night continued
Sherry thought she saw Suze but she wasn't sure
as confusion continues to set in Sherry attempts
to
whisper into Michelle's cheek....
Sherry was then put in a car and driven home
Saturday morning it was off the the French
Quarter
and some hat shopping at Sherry's
favorite place - Kabuki Hats Royal Street Design Studio
how's a girl supposed to decide????
after making a choice, Sherry than posed for
a picture
with Owner/Milliner Tracy Thomson
of Kabuki Hats
Jazz Fest Johnny & Larissa held a pre-show
chow down
before the second Radiators show on Saturday night
Missy Bowen re-enacts Sherry's appearance
on stage with the Radiators the night before
then it was time for a quick pre-show nap
Sherry ran into her old friend Terri on her
way in to Tipitina's...
Terri once saved Whats-His-Names & Zachary's life
Jay Mazza once again led off the festivities
on stage as he introduced....
Tipitina's former stage manager & MC Ricky
Castrillo
to introduce the Radiators for the last night
of their 25th anniversary celebration
and with that the Radiators took the stage
for the second night
of their 25th anniversary with an evening of
the most unbelievable music you have ever heard
(here they are joined by Cranston Clements)
Fred Cargo made Sherry a happy girl with a
set of those Fish beads she had coveted the night before
one of the big questions of the evening was
"where's Sean?"
Sherry had the answer to that one
here we see Sherry up front with Dylan and
his carp,
The Goose & Kim from Chalmette
the night featured many guests including Sunpie
Barnes
who jammed a few songs with the Radiators on harmonica
not being fooled two nights is a row...
Sherry spotted Suze and got a picture to prove it
Theresa Anderssen, a frequent visitor to the
Adventures,
joined in on some hot vocals and violin
Max & Sherry gave the show a solid 2 thumbs up
Walker, Christine, Jenz and the Gov were ready
for a photo,
but by this point Sherry wasn't even sure where to wave
and decided that was enough for one night
to the rest of the world this is sorting underwear...
in New Orleans it is called organizing Mardi Gras throws
Mardi Gras Day coming and it won't be long
so Sherry took a couple of swings at the heavy bag
and then called it a week
Thanks to Tipitina's and all the bands that participated
in the past 2 weeks of truly amazing music....
Thanks to all the founders for their efforts in giving us
this great place to enjoy the music we love....
and of course...
Thanks Fess
