The Gov, Tim Foley & Michelle were also
dining at Elizabeth's
that night and sent Steve their birthday wishes
Tim & Tammy Foley were celebrating their
friend Michelle's birthday...the big hat was available
for Steve to wear because Michelle had the good
sense to say "No" when asked if she wanted to wear it
hoping to get on the good side of Chef Heidi,
Sherry paid a visit
to the kitchen and brought Heidi an "Adventures" button
and it obviously worked
when the Gov celebrated his birthday at Elizabeth's
he did
magic tricks for Sherry....this time he just put a couple of
wine glasses on the window sill, grins at them and whistles through
his teeth, knowing full well that Sherry is a sucker for that kinda stuff

only good fortune and a cluttered table are
able to
spare us from seeing what is actually happening here
that Saturday morning Sherry is off to see
her good friend Sean
to pick up the crawfish for the 1st Annual Adventures
of Sherry Crawfish Boil she is throwing for all the folks
who have been nice enough to be in the Adventures
and make them so much fun
Sherry unloads the mudbugs
slices up some Andouille Sausage
rounds up any crawfish attempting to escape
then it's time to greet all the Adventurers
Ronald and Sherry dumped out the first batch and it was on
folks start to dig in as Lisa arrives and
greets Sherry
with one of her now familiar poses
Victoria brought Sherry some beautiful roses
and then
was impressed when she saw the American Legion Award
that Sherry received in elementary school
that hangs proudly in the bathroom
Larissa claims her share of the roses as she
announces
that she also was a recipient of the American Legion Award
so our American Legion girls pose for a picture
while Carl salutes them by chugging an Abita
Sherry with her old friends Jeff & Andrea
Timpa
(a.k.a Commish & the Dre) as she congratulates
the Commish for running the Crescent City Classic
earlier in the day in only 50:22 and the Dre
for making the Times Picayune Social Scene
for receiving the "Loyola Best Casenote Award 2002-2003"
at the Loyola Law Review Banquet
Johnny Malone tips Sherry off that he and
his
sister Darcy would be singing with Theresa Andersson
the next night at Carrollton Station
Sherry's neighbor Big Chief Peppy of the Golden
Arrows
performed a hot set of Mardi Gras Indian music
for a very appreciative crowd...many of the people
at the party had never met before this and had
only seen each other in the Adventures
Sherry and Steve Enslow kept an eye on the
boil pots
and got a good dance in all at the same time
Sherry was very glad to meet Johnny &
Darcy Malone's
mom Suzy in person after exchanging e-mails with Suzy
about her following her kids in the Adventures
Sherry greeting Adam Shipley of Tipitina's
and telling him
how much she enjoyed the CD "Straight from the 6th Ward"
and Adam was the executive producer
Sherry got to listen in on an in-depth music
discussion
between WWOZ's Bill Taylor & Sherry's neighbor, jazz great and
Big Chief of Congo Nation Donald Harrison Jr
George, Marie and Bob thought that Sherry
may have inhaled too
much crab boil when she attempted to show them the flower
Grasshopper had given her that Sherry was sure had an uncanny
resemblance to the Easter Bunny
one of the things Sherry likes about Laurie
is that
Laurie also saw the Easter Bunny in the flower
making his long awaited debut at a party in
honor of the people that
had already appeared in the Adventures is Sherry's
good friend, author of the Kingdom of Zydeco
and editor of Gambit Weekly, Michael Tisserand

Sherry then spotted her old friend Troy from

as he was walking his dog. Sherry had no idea
he was also her neighbor

Jack Cruz of The Roadmasters and Jill take
advantage of set break to make their debut and
qualifying to be invited to Sherry's next crawfish boil
also during a set break Sherry ran into her
old friend Jack Leonardi,
the animated owner of Jacques-Imo's, Jamie, Sherry's favorite
bartender at Jacques-Imo's and Sherry's unidentified new friend
also making his debut this night is piano
hot shot Nelson Lunding who
entertained Sherry with stories of his recent travels around the world
Sherry was very excited to spot Jamie who
had been
the crawfish cook at Frenchy's First Friday in week #44
Todd tells Sherry there is only
one way to impress Tony 8-Track
and that is......
you gotta learn to dance while balancing a
drink on your head
and you know Sherry....drinks on head y'all

and sure enough there were Johnny and Darcy

singing beautifully along with Theresa Andersson
Sherry and Johnny & Darcy's mom Suzy
really enjoyed getting to hang out together
and both agreed that the kids sounded awesome
Darcy could only laugh when Sherry suggested
that she and Darcy should go on the road together
