Day 3 begins with Sherry, Chris Ryan and our
Security Lady Natalia
holding down the tarp as everyone else scurries for breakfast

Sherry then went to Economy Hall for
the Onward Brass Band

and on this day the Onward Brass Band was
Grand Marshaled by
Sherry's good friend and the King of Krewe du Vieux 2003
the always incredible Uncle Lionel Batiste

Sherry joined Uncle Lionel as he led a Second Line through the tent

and Uncle Lionel enjoys it more than anybody

Uncle Lionel thanks Sherry for joining him
and gives her a Jazz Fest kiss

after that a girl needs a frozen Cafe Au Lait

and some Strawberry Shortcake from Duke's
mom Cele

here we see Duke's brother Judah about to
get
a beard full of whip cream for sleeping on the job

it was then time to enjoy
Bob French and the Original Tuxedo Jazz Band

sitting in with Bob French is the guy who
was
all over the Fest, Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews

Bill Taylor and Sherry both agreed "Shorty
da man"

while walking back on the track Sherry ran
into Ashley Hansen
the smiling face that greets you at the World Famous Hansen's Snow Bliz

Sherry then ran into Deb and Paul who she
met through JuJu
who shocked everybody by not making it to Jazz Fest

over at the Fais Do-Do Stage Sherry's good
friend
Jim McCormick and the Full Band turned in a burnin' set

Sherry with the LaGrone girls...
Libra and her mom Ellen

Darlene proudly displays her Adventures of
Sherry
button to Angelie and Sherry

Dorrel warning Sherry that Quint was in the
area
and looking to finally get his picture in the Adventures

and sure enough, there he was, sending his
assistants to try to find the right moment

Sherry meanwhile went to the Blues Tent to
watch her neighbor Donald Harrison Jr
turn in a great set of Jazz and then...

retake the stage the stage as Big Chief Donald
Harrison
and wow the crowd with Indian Blues Revisited

in equally colorful costumes were the
Carolina Tuscarora Indians

Dusk and Judy were up front with
Sherry to enjoy the action

Sherry decided to go international for lunch
on Saturday with the Cuban Sandwich

Sherry, Grasshopper and the Goo
which sounds like the title of a bad 70's sitcom

Sherry then went to Congo Square to take in
the sights
and sounds of the Plastic System Band of Martinique

Karl Bremer, Randy, Sherry and JFJ
enjoying the exotic rhythms at Congo Square

Sherry, Tracy Malone & Toni Gambino
get together to compare hats

then Sherry and the gang grab a picture with
Queen Inertia 2003-Kathrine Cargo

then out came Quint looking for Sherry,
which meant time to change stages

back at the Louisiana Heritage stage it
was the Theresa Andersson Group

Sherry spotted Tommy and Aleisha
for the first time at this years Fest

Theresa then ripped off her skirt and performed
the
rest of her set in strategically placed body paint
(by the way, she sounded great too)

Sherry spotted her old friend Angelina Butera
and
Angelina introduced Sherry to EP, the other
co-host of the new Louisiana Jukebox

just like all the rest of us,
Sherry loves a parade with Stilt Walkers from Martinique

Sherry and Juls stop to compare notes....
Sherry says she is off to see the man she's waited for all day

Sam Butera & The Wildest

Sherry joined the Butera family to catch the
set...
Angelina is in the cowboy hat and her mother Margarita is in red

Sherry's old friend Harry Shearer was backstage
with his wife and great singer Judith Owens

here we have a cross section of New Orleans wildest

Sherry admires Frenchy's on the spot
interpretation of Sam Butera's peformance

immediately after the last photo the painting
slid off the chair
and left another Frenchy original on Sherry's hand

John Goodman was also enjoying Sam Butera
but was quick to take time for a photo with Sherry

Sherry told Sam Butera he is still the wildest
and
there was no better way to end a day of Jazz Fest

and Bill Taylor confirms it to Sherry....
that's a wrap on Day 3
