Big Queen Rita of the Wild Magnolias
Sherry ran into her old friend Dr Ike, who is staging the

picking up a little work on the side

for some Rebirth Brass Band and Papa Grows Funk
Sherry was hanging with Tim Foley when she spotted
Sean's friends Dylan & Jordan but no sign of Sean
Keith Frasier of Rebirth was happy to see Sherry again
and Jo Cool never misses a good chance at a photo op
Jazz Fest Johnny tells Sherry he hasn't seen Sean either
but
if he's smart he'll be at:

celebrate the release of their new CD "Shakin"
finally.....it's Sean
not only a cool guy but also the person
that came up with this years M.O.M.'s theme
of "Swallow The Leader"
Saturday afternoon it was the wedding of Sherry's good
friend Dena to Laennec at a beautiful setting in City Park
Sherry with a very happy bride & groom
covering her bases, Sherry chatted up the preacher....
actually Sherry's old friend and former co-worker Cindy
Dena and Sherry spotted Patrice & Nicole,
a couple more of their former co-workers
Sherry with a very rare Brian Raley sighting
Sherry runs into Marc Paradis of Johnny Sketch & the
Dirty Notes and Darcy
Malone and checks to see if everyone has brushed their teeth
prior to their going on stage at Tipitina's on Saturday night
Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes started the
show in full tuxedos, played a little Bach and then dropped
their trousers and went into a very hot set that included
great new songs from their new CD "Bandicoot"
also jamming to Johnny Sketch was Sherry's old friend
and Times-Picayune music writer Keith Spera with his fiancée Mary
while enjoying the music of Johnny Sketch, Sherry met
Mama Sketch....actually Marc Paradis' mother Holly
maintaining her hectic Lent schedule, Sherry
also stopped by the Maple Leaf to hear some
bluegrass from her buddies in Acoustic Syndicate
Bryon McMurry of Acoustic Syndicate hadn't seen
Sherry since he was in New Orleans for
the recording of the Blue Brass Project
also enjoying the sounds at the Maple Leaf was
one Sherry's favorite dance partners, Mr P
Steve McMurry of Acoustic Syndicate not only
played a great set of music, he also came
sporting the always popular Thibodaux Jones
Creole Kitchen t-shirt (available while supplies last)
Sherry had Steve Novak, publisher of New Orleans Beat Street,
convinced she was calling it a weekend but Bill Taylor
gives that knowing smile that says he knows better
and right he was....Sunday it was the second line parade
of the Revolution Social Aid & Pleasure Club
and the parade, led by the Rebirth and Lil Rascal's
Brass Bands made it's way down South Rampart
Sherry grabbed Tony 8-track and danced all over town
ever wonder why Tipitina's is such a great club????
maybe it's because their people get what it is that makes
New Orleans great and get out to shake it....here we see Sherry
with Adam Shipley, Tipitina's general manager and talent buyer
Sherry salutes King Frank of
the Revolution Social Aid & Pleasure Club
Sherry and Michelle pay their respects
to Queen Catrie along the parade route
Sherry then did some parading with her new friend, Big
12,
father of James Andrews and Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews
Sherry then found Trombone Shorty and the Lil Rascals
Brass Band and danced with them for awhile
here Sherry illustrates what people mean when they
say you see all kinds of things at a second line parade
Sherry as she is about to smack Jon Cleary for
wearing a jacket on such a beautiful day
Sherry woke up Eddie and Christine as the parade
neared their house and they quickly jumped up
from a sound sleep to join the festivities...well done
sometimes dancing in the street just ain't enough
Sherry ran into Wanda, her neighbor and the wife of
Big Chief Peppy, and these two wild women shook it good
as the parade fades into the distance, Sherry is joined
by the
new and improved (short hair and no beard) Steve Picou,
assistant director of the Louisiana Music Commission,
Sherry's friend Grasshopper and Trey in saying good-bye
to a great parade and another great week in New Orleans
