on a trip to the French Quarter, Sherry was quite disappointed
to see Uncle Sam (her favorite "stand-still guy") not standing
still but spending his tip money on video poker
Sherry then stopped by to give her support
to these French Quarter New Orleans Firemen
this Bourbon Street barker promised something quite provocative
but it turned out to be just some transsexual
issuing a Jackie Clarkson salute
Sherry then ran into well known hoochie Gennifer Flowers...
Gennifer wouldn't pose for a picture but was willing
to sell Sherry a Polaroid for $6
we then a had a "Gathering of the Hoochies" as
Gennifer Flowers, Chris Owens and Sherry got together
to try and guess just how old Chris Owens really is...
the next morning it was off to Arthur's House of Glamour
after Arthur did his magic Sherry and Arthur were joined
by
Margaret and Lexie for a chorus of "Friendship Train"
complete with full Pip choreography
then Saturday night at Tipitina's it was the Benjy Davis
Project,
a really hot young band from Baton Rouge....
they'll be at Jazz Fest and Sherry says "don't miss 'em"
Benjy was also quick to grab Sherry so he could join all
the great musicians who have appeared in the Adventures
Sherry with her new friends Drew & Candy Edwards
(wife of former governor of Lousiana Edwin Edwards)
as they waited for the Drive By Truckers to take the stage
and when the Drive By Truckers took the stage
they delivered with all 3 barrels....some of the best
rock music Sherry had heard in a while
Sherry knew it was good when she ran into Todd Perret and
his friends Andy aka "Ms Candy" and Molly
Sherry loves to yell "High 5" to Eddie Branch...
he's so laid back he never 5's above the shoulder
after getting rocked to her boots, Sherry was glad to meet
Patterson Hood
of the Drive By Truckers with Adam Shipley of Tipitina's and Libra Lagrone
Sunday afternoon was time for the downtown Mardi Gras Indians
to march from Bayou St John, but Sherry couldn't find any Indians...
here Sherry & Renee check with Tom Morgan, David Kunian & Bill DeTurk
from WWOZ but they hadn't seen any either
Sherry found Baba Tunji, but he hadn't seen any Indians either
Mike & Shar and Fred Cargo were there for a big
Sherry Wave© but
not a sign of Indians anywhere
Sherry found some cowboys
she found a pork chop sandwich and Gil Smitherman...
but still not an Indian in sight
finally...it was her neighbor from across the street
Big Chief Donald Harrison Jr and his Spyboy Nat
Sunday was the opening of Eddie Bo's new coffee shop
Check Your Bucket at 2107 Banks St...stop on by and
check out their great food and your bucket
Eddie Bo, the proud proprietor of Check Your Bucket,
also entertained the opening day crowd
and Davell Crawford performed a really cool 2 hour set
Carol Fran gave the opening day crowd a rare treat as she
performed a great set of songs including her big hit "Emmitt Lee"
whenever Sherry, Baba Tunji, Davell Crawford and Eddie
Bo
get together it's always yucks all around
Jon Cleary was also among the list of the great guest artists
who performed for the opening of Eddie Bo's Check Your Bucket
it was Davell Crawfor's moms birthday and Sherry made sure
she paid her respects and pinned a little birthday money
on the birthday girl
then it was time for a return of Sherry on a Stick as she
joins
Lynda Rogers, Zachary Dupre & Joseph Esquivel, from Donaldsonville LA
and currently the mayor of Lakewood CA, at the grand opening
of Cousin Jacks Creole Restaurant
to finish up the week Kelly, Ian (7 weeks), Sean,
Mike, Shar, & Larissa joined Sherry in wishing
Jazz Fest Johnny a very Happy Birthday
